The 1982-83 O-Pee-Chee Dating Game (Episode 13)

Welcome back to The 1982-83 O-Pee-Chee Dating Game, where we'll randomly select three eligible bachelors from the set and you, the reader, will choose which one wins that date with a special lady. How do we know they're bachelors? Why, it says so right on the back of their hockey cards, that's how!

Previous episodes are available here.

The big winner of episode 12 was Paul Woods.

Now let's start the 13th round and introduce the bachelors chosen by the randomizer! [APPLAUSE]

Bachelor number 1: Defenseman from the Edmonton Oilers, Kevin Lowe
Bachelor number 2: Right wing from the Minnesota North Stars, Dino Ciccarelli
Bachelor number 3: Goalie from the New York Rangers, Steve Weeks

Remarkable! After a complete lack of goaltenders on the show through the first 11 episodes, the randomizer has now selected a goalie in two straight—and they're both from the New York Rangers!

Let's find out more about all three gents from the back of their cards.

Quite an interesting trio this week. Who's the winning guy? Take your time and choose wisely!

Bachelor number 1: Cooking enthusiast Kevin Lowe.

Bachelor number 2: Dino Ciccarelli, one of the most popular North Stars. (Dino! Dino!)

Bachelor number 3: For those about to rock: Steve Weeks.

  2. As a Ranger fan, I have to go with...Kevin Lowe, who was on our Cup-winning team in 1994!

    1. You fooled me for a moment there, Brett! Kevin Lowe is on the board.

  3. The ladies have a lot to work with this week. A rock star, a chef, and a guy who has his own "hero" chant. I'd recommend Kevin Lowe, but you can't go wrong with any of them.

    1. This was an intriguing episode, for sure. Kevin Lowe takes the lead.

  4. Go with the cook, although it says it “involves” cooking, not necessarily meaning it is cooking. Fun set!

    1. Good observation, Sumo. Mr. Lowe might need to elaborate there. Regardless, he scores another vote!

  5. Going with Dino, who once retrieved his mall sans underwear and got in a bit of trouble for it.

    1. Oof. That's an unfortunate incident. But it looks like our studio audience has forgiven him, because Dino is on the board!

  6. I pity the ladies and guys who chose Dino. Trouble followed him around. Already mention was the indecent exposure but he was also the main character in the Washington Limo Scandal.
With my 20-20 hindsight, I go with Mr. Stability, Kevin Lowe. The cooking is obviously a big plus.

    1. Yeesh. I didn't know anything about these Dino incidents. Score another vote for chef Lowe!

  7. I don't have enough years left on my life to compete with a crowd so Dino is outto. I'm not much in the kitchen but enjoy grilling. I find it a bit intriguing that a fellow who spend his time on ice likes a hot kitchen but that's not quite enough this time. I'll take a Weeks' worth of rock n roll any day!
